Fibre Laser Marking Machines
Ytterbium fibre markers — the range formerly sold as DFL — and the workhorse choice for fast, permanent marking on metals in a production environment.
The Technology
How fibre marking works
In a fibre laser the beam is generated inside an ytterbium-doped optical fibre rather than a free-space cavity. There are no mirrors to drift out of alignment and no consumable lamps, which is why fibre sources are rated for tens of thousands of hours and generally need no scheduled optical maintenance across their service life.
Fibre is the highest-throughput option for metal marking. It cuts deeply and quickly into steel, stainless, aluminium, titanium and coated metals, handles annealing where a corrosion-free mark is required, and runs reliably enough for inline production. Where diode-pumped systems are chosen for the finest detail, fibre is chosen for speed, depth and uptime.
