Laser Marking

Economy Diode IR

Compact Nd:YAG marking at an entry price

Economy Diode IR compact Nd:YAG laser marking system

Overview

Compact Nd:YAG marking at an entry price

Economy Diode IR uses a short resonator to get excellent beam quality out of a compact, lower-cost package, which is what makes its marks sharp and accurate on metals, plastics, ceramics and other materials. Thermoelectric air cooling replaces the maintenance-prone air/water circuit, removing both a recurring service cost and the downtime that goes with it. The series covers the machines previously sold as the DPL Smart Marker I and II.

Features

  • Short resonator for high beam quality in a compact package
  • 100% air-cooled, thermoelectric — no water circuit
  • Low power consumption and low operating costs
  • Controlled from an external PC
  • Integration connections available for production lines
  • Optional lenses for different marking field sizes

Magic Mark control software

Every ACI system is driven by Magic Mark, the supplier's own marking software. It handles text, graphics, barcodes and Data Matrix codes, serial numbers and logos, and will mark right around a cylindrical part without a rotary attachment.

Operator permissions are set per user group, so a machine on the shop floor can be locked to running jobs while programming stays with the people who own it. On an automated line Magic Mark runs unattended and exchanges job data with your existing systems; plug-ins add code generation and scripting where a process needs them.

Certified functional safety

The laser itself is a Class 4 device. Its safety circuit is certified to EN ISO 13849 at Performance Level e, Category 4 — the highest level in the standard — so a fault brings the system to a safe state rather than an uncertain one.

Installed in one of the laser stations, the whole system becomes Class 1: safe to stand at, with no additional screens, interlocks or eyewear to manage. That is the usual arrangement for a manual marking bay, and the reason most of these lasers are quoted together with a station.
